One Project A Month - October

Since we've moved, I've not really done much sewing unless you count shortening/altering just about every pair of curtains in the house, so that's two living room windows, bedroom windows(two in each bedroom), bathroom window, front door curtain, downstairs toilet and two kitchen windows, so I'll blog about them at a later date, that's if anyone wants to see more new house pictures!
.....................
As I've not made anything since July, I thought I'd better make the effort and do something. I bought some fabric with some birthday money off my Mum a few months ago but I always wait a while before deciding what to make.
I finally decided on a cushion cover, not very creative, I know but it's a patchwork quilted hexagon design and here are some pics of it finally finished!I'm pleased with how it looks, doing the quilting wasn't too difficult and it's turned out great!
the back of the cushion cover is just a simple envelope opening with buttons because I hate putting zips in.
.................
I've already started something else, a red/pink braided rug using some threadbare blankets I had, which seemed a waste to throw away, not sure when it will be finished though, as it's going to be a larger rug than I normally make,

I'm hoping it will be a 3 foot x 6 foot rug so it might be the new year before that is finished!

Vintage Kitten - welcome to the 40's , zimmer frame, cheeky thing :-) glad you want to see more pics of the house 'cos I've taken loads! only thing is as it's a new build, we can't put wallpaper up for 12 months and I'd like it to look old fashioned and cottagey, so any suggestions welcome for decorating because I HATE magnolia!!

vintage kitten - great ideas, thanks, I've made do with most of the curtains from the last house as the windows are all smaller but I had to buy some for the large french window/door in the kitchen but they were from ebay of course!
another 'my home' post coming soon...
