One Project A Month 2011 - August

Well it's taken me three hours just to make these two items, but worth it, a wedding gift set for a friend, I think they look lovely and I hope she will too.

I really enjoy making them, seeing what I can create from cream silk fabric, lace, ribbons and fabric flowers, a unique one off gift set of a lavender heart and fabric bookmark.
The wedding is in Carlisle but it's too far for us to travel for one day, but they have said they are having a blessing in South Yorkshire in the future so hopefully we will be going to that.

One Project A Month - April

At christmas I had some money from my Mum, so I bought this book... and some lovely Makower fabric - the Keiko collection from here .... http://www.sewcreativequilts.co.uk/shop/231-makower-prints/3415-keiko-patchwork-570-b2 The other week I decided that I would make a sewing machine cover for myself

the patterned side is the front.....

and the cream spot fabric is the other side. With the leftover fabric I've made a fabric bookmark and matching lavender heart with the patchwork design fabric and used up some scraps of lace and ribbon. and the leftover blue dots fabric, I've made a pocket tissue case and matching lavender heart.

I've also made another pocket tissue case from fabric leftover from making my Mum's rag quilt from the other christmas, it's the Butterfly Gardens range from Makower.

Oh I've made another tea cosy too!

So I'll count these as seven finishes for One Project A Month for April, more pics to follow when I've finished them......apron and peg bag (to match the tea cosy)

    Have a good weekend.

One Project A Month - September - Bookmarks

I've been making things since 1993 ( you can see photo's here)and I keep all the leftover pieces of fabric because some of it is just too lovely to throw away! But I always thought the only thing I could make with the fabric would be a patchwork quilt until the other day. I was reading a book and turning the corners over and inspiration struck! I needed a bookmark, so I decided to have a go at making some fabric ones with the leftover scraps of fabric, lace, ribbon and buttons and this is how they turned out......

They have turned out better than I though they would, my favourite is the green embroidered one ( fabric left over from the sewing machine cover I made last year). The purple floral and cream lace bookmarks even have matching hearts filled with lavender grown in my garden!
Which one is your favourite because it just might be on sale in my Folksy Shop this weekend!
