I made another quiche yesterday, the fourth one in a fortnight, because hubby likes my cooking! I've got this recipie book from Be-Ro
and on the same page as Cornish Pasties is a recipie for quiche, I bought one the other week from Tesco for £2.19 and that was the reduced price! So I thought I would have a go at making my own, the first was a bit of a disaster (didn't take a photo) even though I followed the cooking temperature and cooking times, it didn't set very well.
But the second quiche (above) the third quiche (below)
and fourth one (below), I cooked at 200c for exactly one hour and this is what they looked like.

I made another quiche yesterday, the fourth one in a fortnight, because hubby likes my cooking! I've got this recipie book from Be-Ro

My filling ........(all from Tesco)
- pastry - bag plain flour (41p), lard (27p), low fat margerine (£1, yes I know you can buy cheaper)
- some grated cheese (£1.85 large bag)
- 2 slices of value cooking bacon, chooped into pieces (75p),
- chopped up one large mushroom (value flat mushrooms - 75p)
- two small onions, chopped up ( bag of cooking onions £1 which lasts me ages)
- and quarter pint of milk and 2 eggs (£1.56 for 15) beaten together and poured over the filling
which I cooked at 200c for exactly one hour. The pastry is really crumbly and just falls to pieces. These are our favourite fillings but I'm sure you can put other fillings in if you prefer.
Have a good weekend

ps) oh, as someone has already noticed, I've been messing about with the settings and now this blog is 'invited readers' only but as all my followers will log into their blog anyway, this shouldn't be a problem. I changed the settings as some website called Thoora is busy archiving blogs which I discovered after a search on google recently, which I was surprised at because I've already got the settings ' not to search' by google anyway.

How much do I love home-made quiche ... and with crumbly pastry too! Yours look delicious. x
Yummy! I could just eat a piece right now! xxx
Thanks for the recipe, I'm sorta getting a cooking/baking revival enthusiasm... I even made my own semi home made bread. Your quiche is a good project for next weekend methinks.
Hope everything is well

Louise - thanks, not as hard to make as I thought
Tracey - thanks, it was yummy too! I think I'll be cooking it again next week!
RLS - the recipie is slightly different from the book, which version is just cheese and bacon for the filling and yes everything is well thanks

I make a lot of quiche. I have the same Be-Ro book got my mam to buy it for me, as my other one was dropping to bits. I use the Yorkshire Pudding recipe from it, it never fails.
