I've made a start on altering them to fit our bedroom window , I've finished the first one
and there was some fabric leftover so I've added a frill and made a plaited tie-back as well
I've re-sized the curtains so that they will fit both the bedroom windows and the living room windows and also made a curtain and the tie-back for over the front door. So that when I get bored of them in one room they will fit in another and I won't have to spend money buying new curtains!

That's a great result. I bought some Sanderson print curtains - Chelsea, I think, roses anyway - and made 2 door curtains for our hallway, lined with old, good quality cotton sheets, given by a friend. And thanks for the towels idea; some of our hand towels are getting a bit threadbare on the borders, so I'll zigzag over the holes and then cover with some rosy fabric. (Another job for the to-do list!)
About the phone cover idea. I'll email you tomorrow. (10/05/2011) My 14 year old tripped over a kerb, and turned her little smart phone screen into crazy paving.Tho' it works otherwise. It was in her hand bag.
Sure, you can buy rubber stuff protection. But I thought, what if, a smart phone, had a nice designer padded cover? In your style? Cathcya. Can't say anymore :)
