One Project A Month - December - Purple Rag Quilt

Well it's finally finished, the purple rag quilt which started off as a normal quilt in April 2009.

In September I bought some more fabric which spurred me on to actually finish it.

So three months, 100 squares and lot's of hand quilting hearts and flowers later...
here it is, sorry for all the photo's but I'm really proud of how it's turned out and I hope the person I've made it for will love it just as much as I've loved making it. As well as buying new fabric, I've also recycled two pairs of curtains and a single duvet cover.

Can you see the binding, it's all the leftover fabric stitched together. I was just going to leave the edges raggy but I think the binding looks better.

I think the back of the quilt looks better than the raggy front.

so that's my sewing all finished for christmas, anyone spotted the mistake in the quilt yet?

Well done - you've put such a lot of work into this and I'm sure the recipient will be very happy! Is the mistake that you've decided it's not for Kimberley, as you can't part with it?!

Alix - thanks, I'm very tempted to keep it! the mistake is on the back of the quilt, there is a heart upside down.
