I bought this gorgeous Michael Miller fabric called 'Nevermore' back in January and even though I have quite a few 'make to sell' sewing bag patterns, none of them seemed the 'right' pattern for the fabric if that makes sense.
Anyway I bought this Boston Bag pattern and it has taken about three and a half weeks to make this bloomin bag on and off!
The pattern is listed as 'gusset A, gusset B and gusset C' , which is the piece next to the zip, the piece at the bottom of the zip and the bag base, why she can't just write that in the pattern, I don't know! Oh and the lining, it uses bias tape which means the seams are showing outwards, which I decided not to do , I decided I would do the lining properly and that's why it has taken three weeks, oh and when I pinned the side of the bag to the zip panel ( gusset A ) was 4" inches short ! Anyway it's finished now and for those who are not on facebook here are some finished pics...
the lining fabric is some gorgeous embroidered taffeta fabric, which was lovely to sew....
rolled handles....
and front detail, the pocket, straps and tab at the end of the zip ( gusset B! )
and it is now listed in my Etsy shop and this is the first bag I've listed at the time it's taken to make and cost of the fabrics, will it sell, we shall see? http://www.etsy.com/listing/126451736/boston-bag-nevermore
have a good weekend , Josie x
